Germany plans to offer free rapid testing for the coronavirus March 1. Germany has been on lockdown since December, with cases rising from 8,007 to 2,402,818. In the first week of the year their infection rate has since stagnated. Germany isn’t the only one that has experienced stagnating reports. Kansas City started the year with 2,580 new cases. Since February there have been 1,438 new cases reported. Kansas City offers rapid testing at multiple pharmacies in the metro area.
Joi Mckelvy is a resident in the Kansas City metro area. She was exposed to the virus by a coworker and was instructed by her employer to get tested. Mckelvy went to CVS for a rapid test, where she describes the process as simple.
“ All I did was take a nose swab, put it one inch into my nostril, twist three times and hold it for 15 seconds. I repeat these steps with my other nostril, then I put the nose swab in a container and put the container in a bag.” said Mckelvy. Two days after testing Mckelvy received her results.
